Janet founded HoardingPros because of the overwhelming demand she received from clients aware of her hoarding expertise, as well as her professional desire to see that the job was done right. Janet has been a professional organizer in Michigan for nearly two decades. She specializes in clients with hoarding difficulties, OCD, ADD/ADHD, and anxiety/depression disorders.
Janet received her Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and holds an LMSW, (Licensed Master of Social Work) from the State of Michigan. Janet is in private clinical practice as a therapist, helping her clients work through the issues that are at the root of hoarding as well as other life issues.
Janet appears regularly as a hoarding expert on TLC's Hoarding Buried Alive, as well as having appeared on CBS Detroit First Forecast Morning and Fox 2 News Detroit. She is frequently featured as an organizing and therapy expert for leading magazines and newspapers across the US, including: Cosozo, Cosmopolitan Magazine, The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, Metro Parent, Lawyers Weekly, St. Louis Daily Record, Jackson Citizen Patriot, MLive, and The Seattle Times. She is also a sought-after speaker on the topic of "Compulsive Hoarding Disorder."
